In Loving Memory
Joe and Anne Comella

The Inspiration Behind The Comella Foundation

Joe and Anne Comella, my maternal grandparents, laid the foundation not only for our family—but for the heart and spirit of The Comella Foundation itself.

Anne passed away in 1978 after a battle with cancer. Her death was the first profound loss I experienced, and it marked a turning point in my life. It ignited a lifelong journey to understand pain, healing, and the deeper meaning of health and vitality.

Joe, the patriarch of our family, was the quiet strength that held us all together. He was not a man of many words or overt affection, but his presence was unwavering. Solid. Reliable. Consistent. The kind of man who showed love through loyalty, hard work, and being there when it mattered most.

A son of Sicilian immigrants, Joe valued family above all else. He worked tirelessly his entire life and remained devoted to Anne long after her passing. His steadfast love, even through loss, became a model of enduring commitment.

Their legacy lives on through this foundation—rooted in healing, family, and the resilience of the human spirit.
